Job Description
Our client manages a portfolio of global supply chains covering a range of industrial and energy products. Operating across a multitude of locations and customers, our client facilitates the marketing, processing, financing and transportation of essential raw materials.
Sourcing bulk commodities from low cost regions such as South America, South Africa, Australia and Indonesia, the Group supplies high growth demand markets, particularly in Asia and the Middle East. In order to ensure the integrity of its supply chains, the Group has a portfolio of interests in strategic logistics and processing assets which form an integral part of facilitating its key trade flows.
POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe Processing & Settlement area provides dedicated support to the Asia based Trading Teams in Base Metals, Petrochemicals and Oil. The nature of this support requires individuals to facilitate the communication to exchanges and brokers as wells as reconciliation of Futures trades executed by our Front Office Traders.Due to the expansion of the Futures trading activities we are seeking to engage a Regional Manager of Derivative Operations to be based in our offices in either Singapore of Shanghai. The prime responsibility for this appointment is to lead the processing and settlement procedures for all exchange traded Future & Option contracts traded within the Asia market place, involving calculating, processing & posting of Margin payments to Exchanges, Clearing brokers and internal trading books.>The individual would be expected to rapidly gain a detailed understanding of our front to back trade flows across various Futures Exchanges and internal systems in order to lead all processes relating to cleared derivative trading.
The individual will be required to establish and maintain close working relationships at all levels, with Front Office Trading Desks/Traders, Futures Trade Processing and Sales and Support Staff (e.g. Credit, Finance, Market Risk, Legal & Compliance and other global Operations) - allowing for an integrated and proactive approach to the business requirements.POSITION REQUIREMENTS
5 or more years of experience with part of that gained in leadership responsibility within Credit, Finance, Market Risk, Legal & IT, Global Futures Operations experience
PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS:A working knowledge of trade capture systems in order to oversee the facilitation of feed/input of trades, monitoring exercises/assignment of options and production of necessary trading, position and mark-to-market reports.Strong Futures reconciliation experience
Ability to establish, maintain and oversee a system/platform that checks trades, positions, closing prices, margins and commissions to ensure all Future accounts reconcile with account balances at the Exchanges and Clearing brokers
Taking the leading role in performing all posting & margin requirements to an internal General Ledger
Ensuring that all trading, positions and margin reports have been logged and sent out to relevant trading & accounting control personnel
Balancing OTE and cash balances on Futures exchanges
Balancing positions and trades on T+1 and resolving any breaks
Leading and mentoring subordinate staffs
Working closely with the Trading Desk Heads and Business Unit Leaders
EDUCATION &/OR EXPERIENCE
Excellent Higher Education and Graduate/Postgraduate Level
Good experience and understanding of the major Future exchanges
Good experience and understanding Deliveries processing
Good experience and understanding of Exchange and Delivery Systems
Knowledge of Excel, word and PowerPoint
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent verbal and numerical reasoning skills
Fluency in spoken and written English and Mandarin
OTHER INFORMATION:
Occasional travel to parts of Asia, London and the USA
