Job Description

Our Client is a major global Trading House. They trade a myriad of products including Petrochemicals of which they trade crude, petroleum gases (NGLS and LPG), naphtha, gasoline, gasoil, fuel oil and petrochemical derivatives (olefins and polymers), in both physical and derivative markets on a global basis.

They are looking for an experienced Naphtha Trader to join their established team in Singapore. Suitable candidates will have an excellent track record of trading the petroleum markets and strong knowledge of the Asian Naphtha/Lightends markets.

The role encompasses trading larger volumes of physical naphtha, originating multiple grades from an extensive supply base in the Arabian Gulf, Indian Subcontinent and arbitrage cargoes, and serving a sophisticated group of end users in the Asian petrochemical sector.

Other responsibilities include:

•    Team accountabilities are to support the global naphtha desk in managing all the risks generated by their physical activity, and use the insight gained from this activity to support the development and execution of trading strategies in the Asia naphtha markets. This individual will work closely with the Asian team members and its counterparts in Europe and US.
•    Take the lead in customer activities in the region both in terms of FOB Origination and CFR destination markets, and maintain good relations with key counterparties in the region.
•    Assist the global naphtha analysts to ensure supply and demand models are live and reflect the insights generated from our physical business, and actively communicate key changes to the global team as appropriate.
•    Seek and share generously insights on global naphtha and Asian petroleum markets with the trading and analytical community.
•    Work with credit and risk groups to ensure compliance with all group policies and procedures.

Requirements:

•    Degree in engineering and &/or sciences
•    8-10 years experience trading petroleum products of which at least 5 years in naphtha markets
•    Ability to understand and manage risks associate with large physical book
•    Track record in generating proprietary trading income from trading the physical and financial exposures
•    Have a strong analytical mind (fundamental and technical)
•    Strong risk appetite and trading discipline
•    Be a strong team player and be able to express her/his market views
•    Ease in contract with customers and counterparties is a must
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
