Job Description
Our Client is a major global Trading House. They trade a myriad of products including Petrochemicals of which they trade crude, petroleum gases (NGLS and LPG), naphtha, gasoline, gasoil, fuel oil and petrochemical derivatives (olefins and polymers), in both physical and derivative markets on a global basis.
They are looking for an experienced Trade Execution/Trade Operations Manager to lead a multi-location team and manage all their Asian petroleum and chemicals trade execution, covering cargo operations, logistics management involving vessels, barges and storage terminals; as well as inventory management, blending optimization and the execution of trade finance structures on behalf of the trading desks.
Solid experience in trade execution and shipping logistics for vessels, barges, inventory management is essential as are Strong organizational and planning skills, excellent problem solving and decision making in fast-paced environment and the ability to lead, develop and coach others and empower team members across multiple locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the Asian Petroleum Products trade execution and logistics by vessels, barges, from origin to destination and storage, including inventory management and blending optimization. Execution of commodity purchase and sales contracts; execution of vessel charter-parties; booking and execution of barge freight; execution of storage contracts; and in most cost effective manner. Optimize collaboration with global team.
Lead, coach and develop the Asian team based in Singapore and Shanghai. Align workforce with business needs through hiring, training and backup planning. Optimize people engagement, conduct regular performance reviews and career development plans.
Partner with commercial team to explore new business development opportunities that will enable sustainable profitable growth and customer focus.
Manage the risk of the business through compliance with policies and procedures of the global Trade Execution Team, such as contract management, credit tools (letters of credit), Environmental, Health and Safety, Insurances, Regulatory Compliance, Tax, Law, and Guiding principles.
Proactively collaborate with Process Data and Technology team to optimize and implement processes, systems and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree or equivalent
A minimum of 7 years of petroleum trade execution/logistics experience
A minimum of 3 years of managerial experience
Demonstrated strong leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop people
Demonstrated ability to lead change
Strong knowledge of petroleum specific logistics in multiple mode of transportation (vessels, barges) and inventory management
Strong knowledge of petroleum specific contract terms, shipping terms, shipping documentation, credit tools
Strong knowledge of petroleum qualities and blending
Strong knowledge of local laws and import/export regulations
Strong Problem analysis, Problem solving and decision making skills
Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and conflict
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
PC skills: Microsoft office, ability to create and maintain spreadsheets
Demonstrated ability to improve work processes and controls
Experience in collaborating with Process Data and Technology teams to optimize and implement processes, systems and procedures.
