Job Description
Our client is a new start-up JV in the online shopping industry.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Responsible to lead and champion corporate communications initiatives to ensure effective strategy, delivery and evaluation of all corporate communication activities.
Custodian of all social media and online communications initiatives.
To lead all internal communications and all communications initiatives for customer group and technology including but not limited to manage media relations, expand media contacts to optimize the media exposure, propose collaborations for mutual benefit and actively service and engage media on a regular basis
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS
Strategy
Lead and champion the development of social communications plan to optimise profile of programmes, channels or campaigns.
Provide feedback on opportunities and threats to support the development of the communications strategies.
Identify potential partnerships with third parties (media) where applicable
Updates on media landscape to supplement the overall department’s media strategies as well as companywide internal social media strategy
Steer new social media communications development – Generate awareness and drive traffic to digital activities through online marketing and communications to ensure integration of social media to the communications strategy to complement the overall business strategy.
Ensuring the adoption of relevant social media techniques into the corporate culture and into all of the company’s products and services.
Lead all internal communications focusing on updating, functionality, usability and strategic development of the intranet.
Operational
Build/maintain relationship with media, bloggers and social influencers as well as with service providers
Responsible for setting, monitoring and forecasting income and expenditure budgets for social and internal initiatives.
Update media landscape (new & traditional) to optimise publicity.
Lead the development key messages, draft speeches and press releases for launches and campaigns and execute communications plans related to customer communications and technology (where applicable)
Strategize social media campaigns, ensuring customers' awareness and supporting monetization across the company’s portfolio
Pitch new and innovative stories to best position the JVCo in the marketplace.
Managerial role for key communications for all team through a range of channels, ensuring ease of access to communications, clarity and consistency of messages
Crisis /Issues Management
Support and identify potential issues should it arise
Lead in the development of holding statements in line with organization’s objectives
Provide a guide various stakeholders on the appropriate course of action.
Responsible for customer communications developments including SPLs, IVRs and crisis communications materials.
Process Improvements
Gather data/information to assist in publicity reports to measure effectiveness
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Marketing, Advertising, Economics, Business Administration, Commerce, Management, or related fields
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (both written and spoken) in English and BM.
At least 4 years of experience in a similar capacity in PR / Communications / MarComms
Self-motivated and dynamic person. A meticulous and committed team player with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to work independently and beyond office hours
Excellent in negotiation and communication skill as well as having Creative flair.
Presentation skills
Demonstrated computer proficiency (MS Office applications - Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Well-developed interpersonal skills in dealing with all level of personnel.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction and to prioritise action items.
Focused on deliverables
Experience in using social media monitoring tools to monitor conversations and report on metrics
Preferred
Preferably in Mass Communications/ Journalism/Marketing
Some experience in issue management would be an advantage
Experience in entertainment media or fast moving consumer goods or PR agency
Understanding of marketing and consumer behavior
Malaysians with good understanding of local consumer behaviour and culture
Adaptability - able to adjust to variable approach to match varied task assigned.
Established relations with media and influential bloggers
