POSITION DESCRIPTION

Leading sensors and controls manufacturer located in Changzhou, our client is currently seeking qualified candidates for an operations manager (with strong financial acumen). The primary duties of this position are to direct and manage operations with overall responsibility for production, facility and equipment maintenance, quality, safety, and other production-related activities. The candidate is responsible for maintaining production to achieve budgeted volumes and quality standards.

Continuously evaluate and develop a successful and strong organization which is able to meet current and future challenges.

Formulate/develop quality strategies collectively with the Site Leadership Team to achieve short and long term objectives. Provide leadership in execution through a structured approach.

Plan/organize resources to meet organizational objectives.

Coach, develop and motivate individuals and teams to achieve breakthrough improvements at all levels in the organization.

Develop leadership succession bench.

Provide a safe and conducive working environment that promotes creativity and innovation.

Manage day to day manufacturing operations including activities with material management and production scheduling to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner. 

Account for quality and delivery in addition to the people related items.

Drive ongoing cost reduction to target levels.

Utilize Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma techniques and incorporate best practices.

Maximize activities with management team to implement cost effective systems of control.

Review customer commitments with production staff to assure top quality and on-time delivery.

Support organizational environmental, health and safety goals and lead effort in manufacturing.

Work with other facilities on line moves and consolidation efforts.

Work with HR to establish people policies for operations.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Must have at least 7 years experiences as a Plant Manager/General Manager/Operations Manager.

Proven experience implementing lean/six sigma principles

Demonstrated ability to implement strategy beyond the site level to an organizational level.

Experience growing a site through line transfers and integrations.

Strong working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.

Ability to retain key talent and build the team for growth.

Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures.

Demonstrated leadership and management skills.

English and Mandarin language (written and verbal) skills required.

Minimum 5+ years experience in MNC.

Demonstrated ability to lead change initiatives and drive process excellence.

Shown ability to build, manage, energize and motivate teams of employees.

Strong communication skills and history of influencing at all levels of an organization.

Can work under pressure and continuously deliver results as requested.

Knowledge of MS-Office software (Word, Windows, Excel and Outlook).

Ability to develop unique, differentiated solutions to complex problems – strong problem solving skills.

Ability to positively influence and build relationships with global team members.

Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment with complex project attributes.

Self-starter capable to lead matrixed teams.

Demonstrated critical thinking capability.

Other Requirements:

BS in engineering is required
