Job Description

Our client is one of One of the prominent suppliers of Engineering Plastics worldwide. A global science-based company produces and sells a broad assortment of engineering plastics in the market segments Automotive, Electrical & Electronics, General Industries and Extrusion/Packaging.


This role's focus is on creating new business via specification of DEP products for customer’s applications. He/she therefore manages both internal and external different international contacts/networks related to existing segments and technologies. Direct reporting to Regional Manager (South East Asia).


Responsible for defining, developing and commercializing new project (customers/applications) within the segment/ application strategy, the ambition of the region and focal points within segment and application.

Responsible for leveraging and coordinating AD efforts for his/her projects.

Responsible for positioning new value proposals at his/her target accounts for Commercial development of new value proposals and for communicating value proposals to the market.

Accountable for initiating development agreements with customers in the case the DEP investment is valued

Responsible for putting projects in the PTO tool handled by the BDM.

Develop and maintain networks at adequate levels in the value chain, within customer’s organizations and Research, focusing on engineering and technology.

Accountable after the first commercial order (Order size defined by the RM) for a transfer/ handover plan to the Sales Manager or Account Manager.

Responsible to communicate towards the customer and product manager the commercial request/availability dates and market needs wrt new application developments as input to the marketing plan.

Responsible for collecting market information and communicating current and emerging needs for current and new accounts within the segment and region to drive value proposal development.


(Customer Specific) Value proposition development and improvement.

Propose, and after approval of Regional Manager, manage assigned budget for the project(s).

Commercialization of targeted value propositions.

Network building in the industry.

Knowledge building & propagation of that knowledge within company.


Bachelor’s or equivalent experience in the Engineering plastics

Broad view on industry and markets, in-depth know-how about products and/or applications

Minimum 5 years’ relevant B2B experience in the field of business development or Sales

Creative and pioneering experience

Analytical skills

Relation builder (good social skills), net worker

Structured worker with project experience

A strong negotiator who is able to identify customers’ needs and persuasive in presenting ideas

Knowledge of business & process within his segment

Balance of commercial and technical know-how, skills and experience
