Job Description

Our client, a multinational company in fluid handling systems and packages, is currently looking for an energetic, self-motivated, independent individual to join the Indonesia organization as a District Manager for one of their business units.


The District Manager is expected to profitably grow the sales of the products within, Indonesia through effective implementation of sales / marketing programs, identifying and satisfying customers / users’ requirements, and effective management of the distributions. The District Manager will work closely with the SEA total market and trade marketing team to maximize revenue of contractor product lines in the assigned, Indonesia region.


Sales growth / market penetration / share growth

Meet sales revenue goals in the assigned industry market area.

Explore and implement strategies and tactics to increase penetration of key markets and expand the market share.

Directly contact key major accounts.

Identify root cause and follow-up to make certain that customer complaints have been resolved and customer requirements met. Manage the application of resources for corrective action.

Effective program implementation

Modify regional programs for appropriate fit to the local market.

Execute product, market, and sales programs.

Use local marketing planner, target accounts and sales action plans.

Furnish appropriate feedback to regional and / or headquarter on program fit and results.

Well defined plans / objectives

Participate in the preparation of the Asia Pacific Annual Business Plan.

Prepare the company assigned region annual sales and business plans.

Effective execution of distribution strategy within assigned region

Research and recommend the addition of distributors.

Continually evaluate the existing distributors.

Assure that each distributor has an annual sales target and plan of attainment.

Train distributor sales personnel on applications of the products.

Recommend termination of distributors when appropriate.


Bachelor degree in business, engineering, marketing, technical field or equivalent

Minimum 3 years successful sales and marketing management.

Excellent knowledge of paints and related other finishing construction coating materials products and markets.

Ability to effectively develop and implement sales/marketing strategies and initiatives both short and long term.

Decision-making, planning and analytical skills.

Ability to deal effectively with individuals at all organized levels both internal and external.

English and local languages communications are essential.

Effective oral, written and presentation skills.

Computer skills in Lotus Notes, Excel Sheet etc.

Sales management training, effective leadership and effective training / coaching skills.

Ability to work independently and with a minimum supervision.

Willingness to travel.
