SENIOR PETROCHEMICALS TRADER

The Senior Petrochemicals Trader reports to the Global Head Petrochemicals and will be supported by a Junior Trader/Analyst.
Accountable for all Chinese and Asian trading of petrochemicals and polymers both financially and physically including sourcing, exchange trading, market making, proprietary trading and providing external and internal client hedging instruments such as swaps, futures and physical fixed price supply.

Core Accountabilities:
•    Responsible for all Petrochemical trades in China
•    Managing the positions, reporting and trading PnL
•    Trading Dalian exchange – Polyethylene & PVC, Polypropylene futures
•    Trading Zhengzhou exchange – PTA, Methanol
•    Trading spreads above polymers to naphtha & LPG in region
•    Managing the day to day relationship between the Exchange, Brokers & Physical warehouse
•    Manage the account /counterparty set up in China and Asia
•    Work with Global Petrochemical team in establishing arbitrage trades from USA/EU/AG
•    Mange the Junior Petrochemicals trader/analyst in Shanghai
•    Assist in the exploration of PET and Aromatics trading in China and Asia
•    Grow relationships with counterparties, brokers, and new clients in region
•    Provide trading and market reports on daily/weekly basis to the global Petrochemicals team

Qualification:
•    University Education
•    MBA will be advantageous

Experience & Technical Competencies:
•    Significant years in financial trading of commodities/natural resources products in China or in Asia, OTC/Exchange required
•    Leadership with experience of operating in a diverse multicultural, multi geography teams and complex business environments
•    Customer management
•    Risk Management skills – Var, Risk
•    Mathematical & Financial Modeling skills
•    Petrochemical understanding will be advantageous but not necessary
